They looked really nice in the Amazon picture. Once I received them, they looked like cheap plastic. I don’t believe they would do well in the dishwasher.This is a great looking set of fairly well made flatware, which looks great on dark wood or rustic wood tables. While these feel a bit on the 'cheap' side, due to the lightweight plastic handles, they look really expensive and what you would expect from the great French brand, Laguiole. I was not expecting bone handles at this price point, however, the brand does still make luxury bone-handled flatware at 4 times the price of these.I don't know if, based on the feel and construction of these, that I'd consider them 'luxury' flatware ... maybe 'faux luxury' flatware because they do look more expensive than they feel. I like that they have the brand name engraved on the knife's blade in a fancy font. Nowhere on the knife, box or ad can I find the steel quality, which is odd. I am guessing these would be 18/10, but could be wrong. Thus far, these have not stained or rusted and I am glad that they are dishwasher safe, which makes cleaning them easier.I always worry about flatware made up of several pieces, such as this handle, because if any of the pieces fall off (handle, screws, etc.) they could get stuck in the disposal. These appear to be very well made and I don't anticipate that to be the case. I like that these have the famous little French bee plate on the handle. Not only is that instantly recognizable as Laguiole to most people, it makes pushing the tool through harder food easier, such as when I eat hard ice cream from the pint container.You get 20 pieces/service for 4 people. I have not seen single sets offered in case you need a 5 or 6 person service set, which could turn off some families of 5 or 6 who don't want to purchase 2 sets for 1 or 2 extra place settings. Also, Grey Fog is a new colour, so not sure how long it will be available as white and black are the typical Laguiole colours. I like it and feel that it looks great with white porceilin and silver chargers.This is a classy-looking and relatively well made set of flatware for the price. Laguiole is one of those French luxury brands like Cuisinart which at one time stood for the highest quality (and prices) and the name was then sold off to a company who mass produced inexpensive home items. These were 'Made in China to European standards'. Are these the same quality Laguiole you would have seen a decade ago? Nope ... not even close. But back then, a single place setting would have cost double the 4 settings you get in this box. For under $100, this is one of the nicest looking sets of flatware you can buy. Don't expect these to last long enough to pass down generations but while they are on your table, they'll elevate your dinner service with an expensive look. I also glad I ordered them and may order a set in white as well soon.The flatware is made in China to European standards in the Laguiole style. The price point will tell you at a glance this is not the original Laguiole flatware which is far more expensive. This box contains 4 sets of flatware with the distinctive Laguiole look. The flatware is stainless steel, the handles seem some type of resin component. This set is in a soft gray color. The flatware might be a bit longer than what you would typically be used to. It preforms very well. I've run it through the dishwasher several times with no signs of pitting of the steel or degredation of the handles. That being said I won't use this every day simply because the handles are thicker and do not fit into the slots in my dishwasher for silverware. I will however use them for special occasion dinners as they do look very nice and add a different touch to the table. I had a separate cutlery storage box which I use for these.There are two truly iconic French pocket knives: The wood handled Opinel, a favorite of everyone from campers to shepherds, and the more elegant Laguiole. This flatware set is a stylistic copy of the Laguiole folding knife, right down to the non-functional locking tab. It’s made in China, not France, and is part of Laguiole’s expanding foray beyond functional knives and into all sorts of consumer goods. The individual pieces are attractive, and comfortable to hold, even though they’re designed primarily for looks rather than ergonomics. They do lend a certain amount of French country style to a table setting- the sort of thing you’d expect to see if Martha Stewart invited you over for lunch. I wouldn’t use these for my daily cutlery, but I think they’re a fine choice for elegant picnics, summer dinners in the garden room, and similar settings.these are nicely made, I like the design, some will find it odd... different tastes...they are nicely polished. The handles have just enough girth to get a good grip on them.the set of 20 is priced fairly IMO, considering these are not low end flatware.packed well, so far no issues with the dishwasher...4.5 starsThey arrived quickly and are boxed up attractively with a clear face for a view of the set, after the protective sleeve is removed. The other 3 sets are boxed separately under the show set. I think they’re almost ornate with the way they put together and make for a beautiful setting at the table for a fancy meal. I wouldn’t want them for an everyday service because of all of the little crevices in them needing to be cleaned with extra care but, they’ll be enjoyed on special occasions.Laguiole is a name known for its resilience and good looks. This 20 piece set of dinner ware is an excellent example of this. The flatware is stainless steel with grey handles. It goes very well with most dinnerware dishes.There are 4 forks, salad forks, spoons, dessert spoons and knives in this set. The handles have the iconic Napoleon Bee on each piece. The silverware is designed to fit comfortably in everyone’s hands. The color grey is neutral enough so that it fits with everyone’s decor. A nice addition to my dinnerware. In fact we will all eat cake with this dinnerware.Recommended. prisrob 02-07-2022This is a lovely set of flatware. The weight is very nice and it feels substantial in my hand.The place setting is 5 pieces. I love that it has a teaspoon And a soup spoon. The knife has a nice long blade. All the pieces are sturdy and the cute stylized ‘bee’ on each handle is a dressy touch. This color, Grey Fog, looks so upscale!
